What's New > NATS welcomes new staff member Beth Buchanan as marketing and communications manager
Beth Buchanan joined the NATS executive office as the new marketing and communications manager on October 12. She has more than a decade of experience in marketing and public relations, and has worked for a variety of nonprofits and advertising/PR agencies. Most recently she served as communications manager for the Kansas City Symphony, where she was responsible for writing, editing, project management and media relations.
“We are very excited for Beth to join the staff at NATS,” said Executive Director Allen Henderson. “Beth’s dual degrees in music and communications, her seven years of experience with the Kansas City Symphony, and her passion for working in a non-profit arts environment make her an excellent fit for our association. I look forward to our members and partners getting to know her as she guides our marketing and communications efforts.”
During her time at the Kansas City Symphony she helped promote more than 100 concerts each season along with major events including Celebration at the Station, the largest Memorial Day festival in the Midwest with 50,000 people, and a Guinness World Record Title for the largest tuba ensemble with more than 800 tubas and euphoniums.
"It is an honor to join the NATS staff," Buchanan said. "I am looking forward to interacting with NATS members, promoting stories, and collaborating with the team. How inspiring to see the collective commitment and values of the board, staff and members, and it is truly a privilege to be part of it all."
She holds bachelor’s degrees in mass communications and music from Kansas State University. She enjoys coffee, playing the piano, cooking and traveling.
