Job Description / Duties

Teach approximately 30 semester credit hours per year over three semesters (fall, winter and spring) in the following subject areas:

Applied voice in classical, musical theatre, and CCM styles.
Other courses, as needed, including Voice Diction (English, Italian, German, and French), Vocal Pedagogy (classical and contemporary voice), Vocal Literature, and Careers in Music.
Scholarship, creative endeavor, ongoing professional development, and university service are required.

Qualifications / Required Skills

A DMA (degree) in vocal performance is required, ABD near completion will be considered (degree must be completed by start date). Foreign equivalent degrees from a nationally accredited institution accepted. Experience teaching a variety of musical styles (classical, musical theatre, and CCM styles).

Part-time employees of any other Church-affiliated employer are not eligible for concurrent employment with BYU–Hawaii unless specifically excepted.

Applicants must also cooperate fully in and must pass a background check to be eligible to receive an offer of employment from Brigham Young University–Hawaii.

Salary: Salary range: 114K to 124K, depending on credentials, rank and experience. Housing stipend. A relocation expense package is provided. Annually renewable contract eligible for Continuing Faculty Status (BYU-H equivalent of “tenure-track”). Standard BYU-Hawaii benefits package for regular full-time employees.
