Eric Howe

Title: Faculty Emeritus Holy Names University, Private Voice Teacher
Bio: I teach techniques based on vocal health and coordinated function, informed by over 40 years of teaching and training. As former Cal-Western regional governor and faculty of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Holy Names University (Oakland), where I taught Vocal Physiology and Pedagogy, I am frequently hired as clinician and adjudicator. I am partly retired, and only teach adults (18-80s), and students range from professionals to talented choristers. I currently teach online (using Zoom, Cleanfeed, or FarPlay for accompanying in real time) and in person in my home studio "great room", which seats 40 for recitals (which I usually accompany) and has vaulted ceilings (large enough for big voices.) It features a 6' 1" Sauter grand piano, a 48" Knight console piano, a 2 manual Allen organ, a Yamaha Clavinova, CD and video recorders, and beautiful wooded country views.
Voice Type: Baritone
Music Styles Taught: Opera; Jazz; Folk; Classical; Musical Theatre
Availability: I am available as a performer; I am currently accepting private students; I am available as a clinician or presenter
