Bio: Mezzo Soprano Lindsay Kate Brown’s opera credits include roles with The Metropolitan Opera (covers of the Inkeeper in Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov, Big Stone in Aucoin’s Eurydice, and Marcellina in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro), Houston Grand Opera (Giovanna in Verdi’s Rigoletto, Gertrude in their digital production of Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, and covers of Leonor in Donizetti’s La favorite and Herodias in Strauss’ Salome), The Dallas Opera (Welgunde in Wagner’s Das Rheingold, Dritte Magd in Strauss’ Elektra, and covers of Minkswoman and Stewardess in Dove’s Flight), and The Santa Fe Opera (Hippolyta in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro) among others. Recent concerts include debuts with South Florida Master Chorale and New Choral Society as the Alto Soloist in Verdi’s Requiem and Mozart’s Requiem, respectively, a solo concert, Serenading the Hours, with the George London Foundation, her conducting debut in a co-production of Amahl and the Night Visitors, and acting Assistant Conductor for Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, both with Tri-Cities Opera and Syracuse Opera. Ms. Brown is a recipient of a George London Foundation award, was named a Finalist in the Metropolitan National Opera Council Auditions, is a recipient of a career grant from the Shoshana Foundation, as well as first prize in Opera Columbus’ Cooper-Bing Competition and third prize in Houston Grand Opera’s Eleanor McCollum Competition. An advocate for mentoring young members of the opera community, Ms. Brown founded United in Opera in December 2020 and recently joined Louisiana State University in 2024 as Assistant Professor of Voice. Ms. Brown is an alumna of the Houston Grand Opera Studio, Rice University, SUNY Binghamton, and Mansfield University of Pennsylvania.
