Bio: KE is an accomplished mezzo-soprano with a brilliant career in concert, opera, pop, and musical theatre. She graduated from the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Canada with a Vocal Performance Artist Diploma, studying under Jean MacPhail and Peter Tiefenbach. Prior to this, she earned her degree in Vocal from Xinghai Conservatory of Music in China. She has been employed as a voice teacher and drama coach at the School of Arts of SCUT. Additionally, KE holds a Drama diploma and has collaborated with many internationally renowned opera singers and directors such as Lorne Richstone, Richard Margison, Laurent Philippe, Leon Major, Jorge Chamine, and Tom Diamond. As a singer, KE has won numerous national awards and released several solo albums. In 2010, she won first place in the Canadian Newcomer Idol Singing Competition, which was prominently featured in the Toronto Star and Metro News. She has performed with the Toronto Operetta Theatre in productions THE MERRY WIDOW and CANDIDE. KE also participated in Royal Conservatory of Music productions, which include LE NOZZE DI FIGARO and LA BELLA DORMENTE NEL BOSCO. She has given numerous solo recitals at the RCM Concert Hall in Toronto and performed in charity concerts across Canada. KE is not only passionate about singing, but also dedicated to nurturing the next generation of vocal talent. As an educator, she founded MK Singing School in Toronto in 2009. She has established excellent relationships with her students of all ages, especially children. KE’s ability to connect with students and her talent in teaching advanced topics in a simple way are truly remarkable. Her extensive expertise, humorous bilingual teaching style, and entertaining teaching are popular among students. Under her careful guidance, students have made rapid and significant progress, and have won many awards and excellent results in the Toronto local music competitions, Ontario Provincial music competition and the Young Voice International Competition in the United States and Canada. KE also actively guides students to extend the meaning of singing, perform for the Mon Sheong Long-Term Care Centre, help raise funds for the girl education project in the western mountainous areas of China, help raise funds for the Ontario Society for the Protection of Animals, and carry out many public welfare and charity activities such as the vocal salon for autistic children. KE has been invited to be an adjudicator in many vocal competitions.She is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and English. As a recognized professional, KE is a registered voice teacher with the Royal Conservatory of Music, member of ORMTA (Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association) and NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing).
