Bio:

Anna Chierichetti, soprano has enjoyed an active career in opera since 1991. Throughout her career spanning more than 30 years, she has performed in major international opera houses and concert halls, such as Milan’s Teatro alla Scala, London’s Covent Garden, the Salzburg Festival, Hamburg State Opera, Bilbao Opera, Madrid’s Teatro Real, Seville’s Teatro de la Maestranza, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Zurich Opera, the Aix-en-Provence Festival, Pesaro’s Rossini Opera Festival, Teatro Filarmonico di Verona, Naples’ Teatro San Carlo, Paris’ Opéra Bastille, Opéra National de Lyon, Teatro Regio di Torino, Warsaw Opera, Kraków Opera, Catania’s Teatro Massimo Bellini, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Rotterdam’s De Doelen, the Barbican in London, the Salzburg Mozarteum, Rome’s Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra in Utrecht, Paris’ Salle Pleyel, Barcelona’s Palau de la Música, and Prague’s Smetana Hall.

Ms. Chierichetti has appeared several times at Teatro alla Scala in productions conducted by Giuseppe Sinopoli (Die Frau ohne Schatten), Riccardo Muti (Europa Riconosciuta), Christopher Hogwood (Dido and Aeneas), and Roberto Abbado (Teneke by Fabio Vacchi). At Warsaw Opera, she sang the role of Marguerite in a new production of Gounod's Faust staged by Bob Wilson and was chosen by Maestro John Eliot Gardiner to sing Contessa, Donna Elvira, and Elettra in a European tour.

On the concert stage, Ms. Chierichetti has performed Brahms' Ein deutsches Requiem at Teatro Filarmonico in Verona and Teatro alla Scala, Berlioz's Les nuits d'été at Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova, J.S. Bach's Magnificat at Rome’s Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Mendelssohn's Lobgesang with the Toscanini Orchestra in Parma, Strauss’ Vier Letzte Lieder with the Czech National Orchestra in Prague.

Ms. Chierichetti’s vocal and stylistic versatility allows her to perform diverse compositions ranging from Baroque to contemporary repertoire, with a predilection for Mozart's operatic works. Her extensive discography includes the world premiere recording of Il califfo di Bagdad by Manuel Garcia with Les Talens Lyriques, conducted by Christophe Rousset and edited by the Decca Archives.

Enriched by her outstanding national and international on-stage successes, Ms. Chierichetti has pursued a career in academia since 2011. She currently teaches Vocal Chamber Music at Piacenza Conservatory and regularly conducts master classes for both Italian and foreign students.

Ms. Chierichetti holds degrees in Voice and Vocal Chamber Music from Milan’s “G.Verdi” Conservatory, as well as a Master of Arts in Cultural Management.
