Title: Voice Teacher
Bio:
ONLINE as well as IN PERSON lessons offered.
Ms. Ayre’s private voice students, ranging in age from older elementary through adult, have been selected for professional singing opportunities with the National Symphony Orchestra, the Washington National Opera, DC Public Opera and area choral groups. Her students have been winners and finalists in regional and national competitions, including the NATS state, regional and national student auditions. Her teaching includes the physiology of singing, and seeks to allow each singer to create his or her most beautiful and free sound, with an emphasis on a well-supported, legato line. Sight reading and music theory are incorporated into lessons. The studio offers quarterly master classes and twice-yearly recitals. Lessons are available online as well as in person.
Ms. Ayre holds a Master’s in Music from The Catholic University of America with an emphasis in vocal pedagogy. As an active soloist and recitalist in the Washington, DC area, Ms. Ayre brings to her students a personal understanding of the challenges and the joys of singing. In addition to her private studio responsibilities, she has been an instructor for the PREP classes of the Children’s Chorus of Washington (CCW) and served as the diction coach to both CCW and The Reston Chorale. She has prepared children’s choruses for opera and concert productions, and also teaches preschool music. https://amyayre.mymusicstaff.com/
