Bio: Natalia Palatnic Education STATE UNIVERSITY, Russia MA Degree in Opera and Concert Singing and Secondary School Music Teacher SPECIALIZED MUSIC COLLEGE, Russia BM Degree, Elementary School Music Teacher Graduated with Honor Certificate as Ensemble/ Chorus Singer and Elementary School Music Teacher Professional Activities During her academic career, Mrs. Palatnic had successfully achieved passing stature in the Singer’s Contest and had been privileged (among a very few amount of students) to be hired to the Singer’s position at the State Opera House of Saratov City, Russia. After graduating from the State University, Mrs. Palatnic had been admitted, to the Moldova State Philharmonic Society, as a solo Singer to the “Doina” State Academic Concert Ensemble. Mrs. Palatnic has had enormous success as a singer and had been invited personally, along with the Ensemble that performed at various concerts, to all the Republics of the former Soviet Union and abroad. She went on tours with her concerts to Czechoslovakia, France, Romania and Belgium. Natalia was actively involved in promoting classical and folk music all over the fifteen Republics of former USSR. Her repertoire as a soloist include W-A. Mozart’s Excultate Jubilate with famous “Alleluia” with Chamber Orchestra ( Israel), Rejoice Greatly and other soprano parts from Messiah by G.Handel, Cleopatra from Julius Caesar by G.Handel, Marguerite from Faust by C.Gounod, Rusalka from A. Dvorak, Madama Butterfly by Puccini, Art songs by P. Tchaikovski and S. Rahmaninov, Ed. Grieg and G. Faure as well as Ave Maria by Fr. Schubert , Bach – Gounod and Giulio Caccini. Although her qualifications as an Opera singer, Mrs. Palatnic never gave up her desire to teach by offering students singing lessons. Mrs. Palatnic’s most influential teacher was international opera singer Svetlana Strezev, who taught her much about performance and characterization as well as vocal technique. Natalia’s expertise, positive teaching style and personal warmth provide the characteristics needed to share her knowledge in an effective manner. Mrs. Palatnic regularly attends Vocal Master Classes in the Departments of Music at York University and University of Toronto as well as Maestro Michael Trimble’s Master Classes (Seattle, WA). Natalia Palatnic is a Founder and Curriculum Music Coordinator in the SOUNDS OF MUSIC AND ART SCHOOL (Vaughan, Ontario) for 15 years. As a founder of her school, she has been involved in all aspects of running a successful music school. Her duties include hiring professional musicians specializing in teaching various instruments and art. She also manages the daily music lessons schedules, sorting of payments and the assurance that all students and parents are satisfied with the education being presented at the school. On a semi-annual basis, she not only organizes and leads personal music school recitals, but accompanies her vocal students, during their performances, as well. As a vocal coach she leads both private and semi-private lessons and prepares students of all levels for Royal Conservatory Examinations up to grade 10 and ARCT. She also trains students for auditions to prestigious art schools, as well as solo students, duets and ensembles for music festivals such as Kiwanis, Davenport, Peel and North York. The majority of her students are winners of these festivals as well as the York Region Talent Search in the City of Vaughan. In addition, a number of these students decided to further their education by entering university music programs and are successfully completing them.
