Title: Adjunct Instructor of Voice

Bio: Bryan Lane is a tenor with diverse tastes and abilities who desires to connect with audiences on a deep level through unique repertoire. With varied interests in choral music, chamber music, and opera, Bryan is a regular member and soloist with the Los Angeles Master Chorale and has sung professionally with Seattle Opera, the Santa Fe Desert Chorale, and Opera Santa Barbara. As an avid performer of early music, Bryan has performed with seminal group Capella Cordina, Seattle Early Dance, Seattle Early Music Guild and with the newly formed Seattle based Queen City Musicians. In the summer of 2015, he was a featured performer with Sequentia Ensemble while studying at the Early Music Vancouver festival. He recently made his Disney Hall debut as the tenor soloist for the Los Angeles Master Chorale’s Messiah Sing-along and has performed other solo concert roles in Monteverdi’s Vespro Della Beata Virgine, Handel’s Israel in Egypt and Messiah, and Arvo Pärt’s Passio. He has participated in the Amherst Early Music Festival Baroque Academy performing as a soloist in Purcell’s Fairy Queen. Bryan has performed principal operatic roles as Almaviva in the Barber of Seville, Nerone in L’Incoronazione di Poppea, and Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola and has performed small roles with Opera Santa Barbara. As a teaching artist, Bryan sang the role of Parr in Seattle Opera’s Our Earth cycle which was performed for children across Washington state. Bryan’s studio recording work includes the unique solo vocal library, Voice of Gaia: Bryn with Soundiron instruments. He has also recorded solo trumpet for several independent films by director A.K. Hottman in collaboration with composer Trevor Welch. Bryan is a recipient of Early Music America’s 2015 Summer Scholarship and was a semi-finalist at the 2014 Classical Singer Magazine Vocal Competition. He holds an Artist Diploma in Early Music from Cornish College of the Arts, an M.M. in Vocal Performance from UC Santa Barbara, and a B.A. in Music from Westmont College.
