Bio: Soprano Jennifer Foster has a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Chapman University and an MFA degree in Interdisciplinary Arts from Goddard College in Vermont where she broadened her foundation in vocal pedagogy and expanded into Theatrical Vocal Coaching, Shakespeare, VoiceOver and Public Speaking. Her performing career has included opera, oratorio, recitals and chamber music with world class musicians and conductors throughout the United States and Europe. A member of Actors Equity, she has also performed roles in musical theater. Highlights from among her many credits include lead and comprimario roles with the Los Angeles Opera, a national tour with San Francisco Opera’s Western Opera Theater, Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under Esa-Pekka Salonen at the Hollywood Bowl, Nimue and Lady Anne in Camelot at Pennsylvania Center Stage, Anne Trulove in Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress with Boston Cantata Singers and at the Aldeburgh Festival in Snape, England, Juliet in excerpts of Lee Hoiby’s Romeo and Juliet with the Stamford Symphony, engagements with the New World Symphony among many other regional orchestras, Tanglewood, Santa Fe, Cabrillo, Tucson, and Aspen Festivals, and an improvised duet with Bobby McFerrin at the Verbier Festival in Switzerland. Jennifer served as soloist for The First Church of Christ, Scientist, (The Mother Church), in Boston from 1997 to 2004. Her recordings include Jubal-ation, produced by the Christian Science Publishing Society, and “Jennifer Foster: The Debut,” live performances of lesser known chamber works.
