Bio: Sandra Oberoi is a singer, voice teacher, music educator and founder of the Harmony - The Music School, Bangalore, India established in 2008. Artistic Director of the award winning youth choir, The Harmony Chorus, the choir has performed for various events around India, Russia, England, Scotland and the Isle of Man. Presently serving as NATS India Chapter President, Executive Board Member of the International Society for Music Education Board and Chair of the Advocacy Standing Committee, Sandra regularly performs and teaches in India, United Kingdom and the United States as well as other parts of the world. Her students have topped the NATS International Region auditions, and NSAs with Tiana Oberoi, the first winner from IR NATS, winning the Upper High School category in San Diego, 2023. Many have also aced their music examinations, won international vocal competitions, performed at Carnegie Hall, NYC and Musikverein, Austria among other prestigious venues. Sandra regularly lectures on building vocal versatility and sustainability, the adolescent changing voice, culturally responsive/relevant/sustaining pedagogies, vocal pedagogy, crafting meaningful choral experiences for all, and nurturing lifelong learners. She is a doctoral researcher at University College London's Institute of Education. Sandra curates concerts with a cause with her students and choir to support children with AIDS, mentally and physically challenged girl children, the education of disadvantaged children in India, raise awareness on the music of women composers and songwriters, teen mental health and climate change.
