Title: Vocal Instructor

Bio:

I grew up just a short drive from Hollywood, California, the glimmering heart of entertainment, and I've felt drawn to the world of performance for as long as I can remember. My vocal journey started early, at just five years old, and I’ve been lucky to train under the guidance of incredible mentors, including Carol Ann Modesitt, Dr. Ken Peterson, Laurie Winckel, Norris Chappell Jr., and Tony Award winner Lisa Seegmiller. Pursuing my passion led me to Southern Utah University, where I was awarded a full scholarship to study music and vocal performance, focusing on opera and musical theatre.

Over the years, I've been blessed with so many wonderful experiences. I won first place in the musical theater and classical divisions at the National Association of Teachers of Singing competition, representing the Las Vegas Chapter in 2005 and 2009. One of my fondest memories is making my television debut in 2003, singing the National Anthem at the Paradise Bowl. I've also had the honor of performing as a soprano soloist with the Orchestra of Southern Utah and the Southwest Symphony in the "Messiah", a deeply fulfilling experience.

Onstage, I’ve had the joy of playing a variety of roles that I hold close to my heart. From The Narrator in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" to Sarah in "Quilters", Fastrada in "Pippin", Sister Hubert in "Nunsense", and the Witch in "Into the Woods", each role has taught me something new about storytelling. I’ve also tackled fun characters like Lycus in "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum", Mama Ogre and the Dragon in "Shrek", and even the unforgettable Audrey II in "Little Shop of Horrors". In opera, I’ve enjoyed portraying roles like the First Lady in Mozart's "Magic Flute", Nella in Puccini's "Gianni Schicchi", and the title role in "Suor Angelica".

My passion for the arts eventually led me to open my first voice studio over 15 years ago while studying at Dixie State University. Since then, I’ve expanded to teach in Southern Utah, Las Vegas, Kansas City, and now Austin, Texas. I’ve also had the pleasure of serving as the resident music director for Kids in the Round Theater Company in St. George, Utah and teaching as a General Music & Choir instructor at Vista School of Performing Arts. There is no greater joy than seeing my students thrive, whether they’re landing lead roles in regional theaters, taking on exciting TV and film projects, excelling in school performances, or joining select performance groups.

I’m dedicated to nurturing the love of performance in each student, sharing my knowledge and experiences to help them find their voice and achieve their goals both onstage and beyond. I look forward to continuing this journey, supporting the next generation of artists with a heart full of passion and a commitment to excellence.
