Title: Singing rehabilitation specialist, wellness educator
Bio: I have worked for 30 years at the intersection of voice rehabilitation and vocal arts pedagogy, offering individual rehabilitation services, training teachers in health issues and advocacy, and lecturing/publishing in both clinical and arts spaces to continue to bridge communication gaps between the two. My background includes years of touring and recording as a singer-songwriter; I’ve also directed a community chorus; earned an MFA in Theatre (CalArts); and was senior clinician for nearly 20 years as at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center’s Voice Clinic, Los Angeles, serving singers in genres from opera and rap to MT tours and international pop. I am certified by the Performing Arts Medicine Association, and the author of Everyday Voice Care: The Lifestyle Guide, soon to be in 2nd edition. I consult with teachers around the world, as well as offering local workshops for performers on vocal wellness and healthy technique.
