Christine Meadows, Mezzo-soprano

Christine Meadows recently retired from her position as Director of Opera and Voice Area Coordinator at Portland State University. She currently teaches Applied Voice at PSU and maintains a private studio. She received her Master’s degree at Indiana University where she was a student of Margaret Harshaw. As a licensed Andover Educator, she also teaches Body Mapping for singers.

As a performer, Ms. Meadows distinguished herself with two seasons at New York City Opera. She made her professional debut with Portland Opera as Cherubino in The Marriage of Figaro(1986) and after returning to her home in Portland, Oregon to live appeared in more than 20 productions with Portland Opera. She has performed with numerous American opera companies, the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony and many American orchestras and choral organizations.
