There has been a change in featured artist for the Saturday evening concert at the 2025 International Congress of Voice Teachers. Canadian soprano Lauren Margison will now perform in place of Jane Archibald, who is unable to perform due to health issues.
The concert will take place as scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 2 in Koerner Hall at the TELUS Centre for Performance & Learning in Toronto. All previously issued tickets remain valid for this performance. The concert program will be announced at a later date. A ticket is required to attend.
A versatile soprano, Margison has performed extensively both in Canada and internationally, specializing in classical, jazz and pop repertoire. Her recent appearances include leading roles in La bohème, Otello, Carmen, and Pagliacci with companies such as Opéra de Montréal, Toronto’s VOICEBOX: Opera in Concert, and Staatstheater Mainz. Other career highlights have included performances for Opera Ontario, the TD Toronto Jazz Festival, The Beaches Jazz Festival, the Ottawa Chamber Music Festival, the Cincinnati Pops, Hannaford Street Silver Band, the noon hour concerts at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts – Richard Bradshaw Amphitheatre, Ottawa Choral Festival Gala, and the Venetian Ball.
Margison has been a finalist and prizewinner in multiple international competitions, and she was a member of the prestigious Atelier lyrique de l'Opéra de Montréal, a laureate of Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques, and an alumna of the Canadian Opera Company’s Ensemble Studio. Her upcoming engagements in the 2025/26 season include debuts with the Memphis and Billings symphonies for Verdi’s Requiem.
