Bio: Music - Voice faculty Laura Doss has served on the faculty of the Alabama School of Fine Arts in Birmingham , Alabama since 1996. She directs the ASFA Choir and Vocal Chamber Ensemble, teaches private voice, music theory, aural awareness and sight singing. She is an adjunct music faculty member at Samford University. A graduate of Samford University and the University of Montevallo , Laura holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a Master of Education. Before joining the faculty at ASFA she taught private voice and speech at Wallace State College in Hanceville and had a private voice and piano studio. She has also served as a children's, youth and adult choir director at several churches. Laura is a National Board Certified Teacher in Music, serves on the Board of Directors of Cullman Community Concert Association, is a member and past officer of Symphony Club of Cullman, is an Outstanding Young American, and member of National Association of Teachers of Singing, Music Teachers National Association, American Choral Directors Association, board member of Alabama Music Teachers Association, and Phi Kappa Phi, Omicron Delta Kappa, Delta Omicron honor societies. Her students have been finalists in state and regional NATS auditions, regional and national finalists in MTNA auditions, and finalists in the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts awards. The ASFA Choir has been acclaimed by regional and national adjudicators for its musicality and technical facility. Laura has been featured soloist in numerous churches, recitals and concerts in north Alabama. She resides with her husband Morrow and two daughters in Cullman, Alabama.
