Book reviews from the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Journal of Singing
Cheri Montgomery has written a veritable library of resources. She methodically presents the sounds for each language with a summary of rules for transcription, guidance in applying the rules, and transcriptions of examples drawn from the literature. The practical nature of this text is outstanding. The author elucidates both the basic principles and finer points of diction. ~ Review of Phonetic Transcription for Lyric Diction by Debra Greschner, Jan/Feb 2017
The Singer’s Daily Practice Journal is an invaluable tool for the student of singing. It offers a structured approach to daily practice and reinforces a wide range of important pedagogic concepts. Both the size and the cost of the book make it accessible for students. With it, Montgomery has made another valuable contribution to the literature of voice pedagogy. ~ Review by Debra Greschner, Sept/Oct 2018
