The NATS Artist Award Competition came to its conclusion on July 2, 2010 with the finals held at the Little America Hotel in Salt Lake City, UT in conjunction with the National Conference.  The semifinals were held on July 1, from 2:00-8:30 p.m. with 14 singers competing for the chance to sing in the finals.

Composer David Sisco is the winner of the 2010 NATS Art Song Composition Award.  Sisco, who resides in New York City, has established a strong catalogue of art song and musical theatre works.  His winning composition, Missed Connections is for mezzo soprano and piano.  Final judge Tom Cipullo had this to say about the winning composition:  "This is a work of tremendous variety, filled with whimsy and also very touching.  Extremely well-written for the voice and filled with challenging piano writing, Missed Connections is the work of an immensely talented and engaging composer."

Applications for the 2011 NATS Intern Program are now being accepted.  All applications must be received in the NATS office no later than December 15th.  Complete information can be found HERE.

The Van L. Lawrence Fellowship was created to honor Van L. Lawrence, M.D. for his outstanding contribution to voice research, and particularly to recognize the importance of the interdisciplinary education he fostered among laryngologists and singing teachers. It is awarded jointly by The Voice Foundation and The National Association of Teachers of Singing Foundation.  Complete application information can be found HERE

Our 51st National Conference, Echoes of Song,  took place July 2-6, 2010 in Salt Lake City, Utah and was a huge success!
